Exterior House Designs

I wanted to put together a few images that I consider to illustrate classic and timeless exterior design and colour schemes, and what really works in each.

I have put together a few points on what I think to be important considerations when designing your home exterior or selecting exterior colours:

  • The architectural style should reflect the overall scheme you are trying to achieve, this includes the selection of materials and placement of such things as coloumns, fretwork etc;
  • The design should complement the geographical location of the home;
  • The selection of colours should bare in mind how exposure to the natural light will affect them as well as the interior (for instance, we all know dark colours absorb and trasnfer heat and also fade over time)
  • And I always recommend selecting in accordance with what you believe to be timeless and you won’t tire of.
